Hypnotherapy with Children & Adolescents

Our children today have so much to manage. Your child is not on their own, most issues are very common and, depending on the cause, usually respond very well to hypnotherapy:

Issues we manage include: General Anxiety, Poor Body Image, Bedwetting, Separation Anxiety, Fears and Phobias, Study and Exam Related Stress, Bullying, Thumb Sucking, Nail Biting and various compulsive habits, Self-harm, Selective Eating, Anger Problems, Lack of Confidence, Poor Self-esteem and Bereavement.

Does Clinical Hypnotherapy work with children?

The simple answer is yes, most times.
With older teens the journey into hypnosis may be similar to that we use with some adults.

We develop personalised audio recordings for the children to use at home for no extra fee. With personal guided imagery audios we find children take ownership of their recordings, the more they listen, usually before bed, the better the outcomes.

Children In Care

Children In Care

(Looked after Children) We do not need to revisit their 'traumas' to create a better world for these young people. We can help LAC deal with the presenting issues and deep secondary emotions, such as Sadness, Depression, Attachments, Separation Anxieties, Insecurity, Compulsive Actions, Low Self-Esteem, Helplessness and so many, other, sometimes deeply rooted fears

With children and the very young the journey is much more about engaging in imaginative play with their fertile, colourful, creative minds. Children can take up relaxing, daydream-like states, sometimes with eyes open but with lots of bum-shuffling, giggling and wriggling around! We use lots of play, gentle imagery, activities and stories.

The Children and Young people we tend to see include children with and without various diagnoses. We see for example, children who have diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) as well as those who display several of the symptoms but do not fulfil all the criteria for a diagnosis.
